Utilities & Industries Donates Money to Boy With Cancer

Category: Press Releases

Fairmount City, Pa- In late October DBI the parent company of Utilities & Industries, Brookville Glove, V.G. Dougherty Real Estate, and Long Shot Ammo & Arms held a pink out. For each employee at all of the companies that wore pink DBI donated $5 to a non-profit organization.

Last year Utilities & Industries ( a gas meter re-manufacturing facility in Reynoldsville) held a pink out and they decided to donate it to a little boy with cancer. Brookville Glove (American Made Glove Manufacturer) also makes pink “Gurly Bear” gloves and donates a portion of the sales to a charity. It has been such a success and the employees loved being a part of it so much that DBI decided to do something similar again this year, but involve all 4 of their companies.

With the efforts of ALL the employees from all FOUR companies DBI raised $500. In addition to raising the $500, DBI is also pleased to announce they are donating that money to a local boy.

Landon Kunselman is a two year old little boy that resides in New Bethlehem with his parents Joann Smith and Steven Kunselman. Landon has stage 4 neuroblastoma. This strand of cancer is treatable but with extensive treatments. Landon has had his stem cells harvested and still has a long road ahead.

DBI hopes this donation can take a little financial strain off of the parents, so they can focus on enjoying their time with their son.
